ASP Training Intensive

*NOTE: The Special Needs session starts at 12:00pm EST, and the Disability session starts at 7:00pm EST. Each session is 3-4 hours long, Monday-Friday.

We invite you to come in person to the Spiral Movement Center for a week-long training intensive this October! This intensive will kickstart a year of ASP certification training, and will give students an opportunity to work directly with ASP Founder Yuji Oka to learn advanced techniques and training methods and fully develop your professional ASP practice.

The cost of a single stream in the program is $2000 CDN, and will include:

• Two 5-day on-site intensives
• Year-round mentoring
• Monthly zoom meetups
• One-on-one mentoring with Yuji (including personal Zoom calls)
• Facebook community support group

The first intensive will begin on October 4th, 2021 and will introduce students to all the fundamental skills of the ASP curriculum.                    

The second intensive will take place Summer 2022, and will prepare students to create their own teaching curriculum focused on their area of specialization.

To best prepare students for the unpredictable challenges of teaching, both intensives will have a strong focus on case studies, including children who have come to the SMC in the past, as well as more specific studies provided by each participant from their own practice.

This program will help you fast-track your knowledge and bring you fully up to speed to work in professional situations. We will be providing an online portal resource to support your studies, work, and personal progress as a teacher. We believe in real collaboration and will provide many opportunities for you for professional development, including:

• Listing in a professional directory of certified Adapted Spiral Praxis teacher practitioners
• Opportunities to partner with new ASP initiatives in India and Tanzania, and other countries as they arise
• Possibilities to co-present at conferences around the world and Online
• Continuing professional relationships with all staff and practitioners in the ASP community
